STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Governing Board of Directors and Faculty of New India Bible Seminary hold as essential to life, faith and ministry, the following declarations.
1. The Bible is unique and divinely inspired in all its content. All the books of the Old and New Testaments, given by divine inspiration, are the written word of God, the only infallible, inerrant and authoritative rule of faith and practice. They are to be interpreted according to their context and purpose and in reverent obedience to the Lord who speaks through them in living power. (2 Tim 3:16; 2Pet. 1:20-21, Jude 3).
2. One God eternally exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Matt 28:19; 2 Cor.13:14; Luke 3:21-22).
3. The only Mediator between God and humankind is Christ Jesus our Lord, God’s eternal son, who being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, fully shared and fulfilled our humanity in a life of perfect obedience. By his death in out stead, he revealed the divine justice, removing our guilt and reconciling us to God. Having redeemed us from sin, the third day He rose bodily from the grave, victorious over death and the powers of darkness. HE ascended into heaven where, at God’s right hand, he intercedes for His people and rules a Lord over all. (Luke 1:30-35; John. 1:1, 14, 18; 3:16; Phil. 2:5-11)
4. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to the believer for effective Christian service. (Acts. 1:8; Luke 24:49; Acts 2:1-4). God has given to the Church the Nine Manifestation Gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12), the Five-Fold ministry Gifts (Ephesians 4) and the Seven Motivational Gifts (Romans 12).
5. Personal salvation comes by God’s grace alone and is received through faith alone in the atoning work of God’s son at Calvary. (Rom. 3:24-28; Eph. 2:8,9; Acts 13:38-39).
6. Sanctification and separation from worldliness ought to be the pattern and standard of the Christian life. Any life-style contrary to Scripture is thereby condemned. (Rom 6&7; 1Thess. 5:23; 1John 2:15-17, Matt. 5:27; 15:19; Rom. 1:22-45).
7. Mankind is in a lost state. Though created in the likeness of God, mankind incurred both physical and spiritual death through rebellion and thereby became sinful and sinners. (Gene.2:16-17; 3:6-19, Rom. 3:10-23, 6:23; 7:18; 11:32).
8. The task of world evangelism is the mission of the church today. (Matt. 28:19, 20; Rom 10:9-17; Eph. 4:7-16).
9. At the Second Coming of Christ, He will come personally and bodily to receive His saints and set up His millennial Kingdom. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cori.15:51-58; 2 Pet. 3:1-13; Rev. 19:11-16; 20:1-6).
10. There will be a future judgment for the righteous and the wicked. Both the believer and the unbeliever will be resurrected bodily in their own order. The saved unto everlasting bliss; the lost unto everlasting conscious punishment. (1 Cor. 15:1-50; 1Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:11; 21:1-22:5).
